ARES is one of four royal stars and opposite to

"Antares" means "rival of Ares".

Antares is one of the largest known stars. Red in colour. It is about 700 times larger in diameter than the Sun. It's also about 10,000 times brighter, although its surface temperature is quite low (about 1.5 times cooler than the Sun) - all because of the star's enormous size.

Antares is a new abstract painting from my "STARGAZER" collection in oil, acrylic and mixed media on linen. 

The STARGAZER series is about the star constellations, slow living and finding solitude in nature. This piece in particular is about the red star ANTARES, the biggest and brightest star in the Scorpios constellation. The stars are beautiful and ever-present.

Beautifully framed in a St Ives bespoke handmade wooden white frame, it measures 46 × 16 cm.

Delivery within Ireland & Certificate of Authenticity included.
