About Michelle

Michelle Lindsay is an Irish contemporary artist based in Tara, Co. Meath, where she creates expressive abstract paintings from her studio and gallery. Inspired by light, movement and the ever-changing beauty of nature, her work is known for its atmospheric layers, rich textures and ability to evoke a sense of calm and connection.

Although creativity had always been part of her life, Michelle’s career began in the corporate world. It wasn’t until later, while raising her three children, that she made the decision to follow her lifelong passion for art. That decision marked the beginning of a new chapter and the foundation of the artistic journey she continues today.

Michelle studied art in London before further developing her practice with established artists throughout Ireland, the United States and Australia. Combining formal study with years of experimentation and dedicated practice, she has developed a distinctive style that is both intuitive and deeply expressive.

Working primarily in oil and acrylic, Michelle’s paintings explore the relationship between light, texture and emotion. Through layered colour, expressive mark-making and subtle shifts in tone, each piece captures a sense of movement while inviting moments of stillness and reflection. Whether working with vibrant colour or softer, more atmospheric palettes, her aim is to create artwork that transforms a space and resonates on an emotional level.

Michelle exhibits regularly at Ireland’s leading contemporary art fairs, including Art Source and Art Evolve in Dublin. Her work has been featured in Vanity Fair, House & Garden and on RTÉ, and is held in private collections throughout Ireland and internationally. She also shares her creative journey daily on Instagram, offering an insight into life in the studio and the inspiration behind each collection.

From her studio and gallery in Tara, Co. Meath, Michelle continues to create collections inspired by the beauty of the natural world and the emotions it stirs.

My hope is that every painting brings a sense of light, calm and connection into the homes where it lives.
